6 months old

My oh my, how time flies. The other day I saw a picture of me at 9 months pregnant. First, I can't believe how massive I was. Seriously, why was I allowed out in public looking that way. Second, I can't believe that it's already been 6 months since those dreadful days. Our little Payton is 6 months old and is just getting more and more fun each day. I love watching her face as she figures out new things. It's like she's in a constant state of amazement at how her hands works, how she can grab things, or how much noise she can make by yelling or banging things around.

We bought her a high chair this past week and she loves sitting in it and being a big girl. We've also started with her eating some rice cereal every day and she's doing really well with it. It seems like just when you get the bottle down to a schedule where everything runs smoothly, it's time to switch things up and figure out a whole new feeding schedule. :-) Oh well. Should be an adventure to see what she does and doesn't like to eat.

At her 6 month appointment today, we heard words that are like music to our ears. Words that we should probably get quite used to hearing: "Your daughter's length just continues to be off the charts!" Yes, we're just beaming with pride.

Length - 28 1/2 inches

Weight - 17 lbs 12 oz (80th percentile)

She has gained exactly 2 pounds and grown exactly 2 inches since her last appointment at 3 months old. Go Payton!

Just hanging out waiting for the doctor to come in...

Payton used to just lay there while the doctor checked her out. She was definitely more grabby this time. He couldn't even get near her without her grabbing onto his hands or stethescope. I love that he's so nice and he just thinks it's so cute that she does all those things and he plays around with her a little bit. Such a fun doctor!
